Design Fiesta!

I love young, fresh, innovative art. Really, I love all art that makes people think...wow! that is fucked up, yet brilliant!...welcome to Design Fiesta! Hosted by Vita.mn, the event featured students, designers and artists, who otherwise would not have space in a gallery, to have the opportunity to get their art displayed for all to see. Kudos to Vita.mn for putting this on - it was a fabulous event! (Where else could you buy a 'mean bag', which is a beanbag with profanities on them!) I love it!

Thank you MPLS for keeping the underground art alive.

Patrick Kemal Pryor Gallery

I had the great privilage of shooting an event hosted by Patrick Pryor this past Saturday called Music Sketch 11. It was a fabulous event that combined the jazzy improv of James Tyler O'Neill along with the amazing artistry of Partick. I have to say that not only was it a great party and a fabulous crowd, but a refreshing experience as an artist to witness. Sometimes we all get roped into the day to day hub of life - and when your life is your art, one's perspective can change or get distorted and we forget WHY we are an artist and WHAT it takes to create art. As artists, I think we need to constantly challenge ourselves and find inspiration around us to keep it fresh and real. Another observation that I am sure everyone had in the room was the overwhelming sense of passion that both of these men had for their skill. Passion is something no class, school or teacher can show you...it's something inside of us that makes us the crazy artists we are. So, cheers to Patrick and James for putting on a lovely event - and thank you!
